Other Details to Note

⭐ “Peaceful, private setting…just quiet and restful.” - John 😎 What’s Canadensis, PA all about? Canadensis is one of those low-key Pocono spots that feels more like a tucked-away local community than a tourist hub. It’s surrounded by dense woods, winding roads, and pockets of classic places like Skytop Lodge and Buck Hill Falls, so you get a mix of natural beauty and historic charm. There’s not a ton of hustle here—which is kind of the point—but you’ll find small diners, old-school markets, and easy access to trails, lakes, and state parks. It’s the kind of place where mornings are quiet, wildlife is common, and most people come to slow down rather than check things off a list. 👋 Meet your hosts We're devoted to ensuring your stay is as comfortable and memorable as it can be! We live close by and care deeply about this home so rest assured this property is well maintained and cared for. Within about a half-mile, it feels like you’re tucked deep in the woods with very little around besides trees, quiet homes, and the occasional winding driveway—it's peaceful, private, and you likely won’t see many people out and about. This area leans more residential and nature-focused than touristy, with a mix of full-time locals and second-home owners who keep things low-key. What a lovely getaway! My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Grotto! I was looking for a private place to stay in the Poconos, as most seem to be in a gated community or surrounded by other homes, but this house was perfect. Close to other homes but not close enough that it was any issue. The house was beautifully decorated with thoughtful MCM furniture and decor, with a great record collection as well. The bed was huge and super comfortable - and it was SO quiet and dark at night it felt as if we were in a remote area just the two of us. The bird watching from the giant picture window was amazing as well. The driveway is easy to find if you pay attention, I found no issue at all getting to the home. There is not much to do in the area, but there was great recommendations and information at check-in. If we ever find ourselves in this area again we would definitely stay here again, without hesitation.

Wife and we’re looking for a quick get away, off the beaten path, in the Poconos. Marcus’ place was the perfect fit for us. Quiet and secluded but easy to find and not far off the main road. The place was clean and neat and had everything we needed. Stayed in the first night, played some records from the great record collection and made use of the outdoor grill for some steaks we picked up at the ShopRite about 20 minutes away. Second day we took a little hike down to the creek before we hit up some shopping and breweries near by. Overall we had a great weekend away and were very pleased with Marcus’ place. Going to try and make plans to visit in the fall and will definitely make it a point to stay here. -Pete

Had a quiet and restorative stay. Was exactly as described and made for a wonderful home away from home. The weather was such that we spent most of our time inside. Great kitchen for cooking, space for playing cards, cozy reading nooks. Exactly what was needed

I had a great time at Marcus’ place. I was looking for a place to go for a retreat and this was exactly what I needed. The cabin was beautiful. It is in a secluded place and it is very quiet. Marcus was very responsive to all my questions. I had a great time here and will very likely visit again at some point

This cottage is very tastefully furnished and in a beautiful and idyllic setting. We loved the nature walks that you could take all the way to the creek. It was the perfect get away for a peaceful and enjoyable couple of days. We especially appreciated all the communication and guidance we received from Marcus before hand that allowed us to find everything we needed with ease. We are definitely looking forward to another visit to this Airbnb again.

Grotto Grove is the kind of place that makes you instantly exhale the moment you arrive. The cabin is beautifully styled, warm, and inviting, with thoughtful details everywhere. The wood stove and fireplace created the coziest atmosphere, and the space felt less like a rental and more like a true retreat. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, easily one of the best sleeps I have ever had. I left feeling deeply rested, relaxed, and genuinely rejuvenated. The record collection was such a special touch. Spinning Fleet Foxes, Sade, Led Zeppelin, and other incredible artists made the experience feel soulful and personal. While there were great restaurants and things to do nearby, the cabin itself was so inviting I hardly wanted to leave. Marcus and Marissa were outstanding hosts who truly went above and beyond. Every little touch made the space feel like home. I cannot recommend Grotto Grove enough and would return in a heartbeat.

My stay at Marcus' home was lovely. The area was serene and private. The home was very clean, bed was comfy and the kitchen was stocked with everything necessary to make a home cooked meal. Marcus communicated well and was easy to reach. I will definitely come back in the Spring.

This home was very clean, cozy, and comfortable. The location was surrounded by woods and had a private trail, it was extremely peaceful and quiet. It was exactly what we were looking for to relax and rest surrounded in nature. Would definitely rent this home again in the future.

Location

Getting around here is pretty straightforward, but you’ll definitely want a car. The area is quiet and spread out, so things like grocery stores, restaurants, and breweries are usually a short drive rather than a walk. Parking is easy and stress-free—you’ll have space at the house, and most places nearby have plenty of free parking. There’s little to no public transportation in this part of the Poconos, so plan on driving if you want to explore spots like Skytop, nearby trails, or small towns. The upside is no traffic, scenic drives, and a really relaxed pace once you’re here.
